Many schoolchildren living in squatter camps do not even have a table or desk on which to do their homework – which is often done on their laps under poor lighting. The youth centre has many tables and chairs and is open in the afternoons for any child wanting to do homework in peace. We are also accumulating a small library, and have been promised 4 computers.
Volunteers from the local universities will be welcomed to provide tutoring for the matric students.
