Visitors enjoy traditional food & warm hospitality (main image);
fast food khayalitsha-style (top right) and washing is hard work

Visitors to Cape Town often miss out on the friendly hospitality and vibrancy of township life. Monwabisi Park is a squatter camp, or informal settlement. In the heart of this area is the Ndlovu Centre where visitors are warmly welcomed. They can enjoy a delicious traditional African meal while being entertained by the youth group dancers on weekends. Beautifully made handcrafted items are also available.

Take a guided walk around the area and share a glass of cold ginger beer under a tree with one of the elders. Every person who has visited this community has remarked on what a wonderful experience it was.

Contact Mrs Dianne Womersley to organise a visit and a meal. Phone: +27 (0)83 375 0988
