Hundreds of children took part in this joyful day of African music and dance. Thanks to Fruitree every performer received a wonderful gift pack, there was delicious fruit juice and exciting entertainment. The audience was wowed by the vibrantly colourful costumes and professionalism of the dancers, as well as delectable traditional food.

Orchestra of Traditional African instruments: The brain child of Dizu Plaatjies will give many young musicians the chance to perform and earn an income from their talent.

All the instruments are hand made (a dying art that we are reviving) and the players are of all ages - the youngest being Dizu's son of 5 years old who is already an enthusiastic drummer.

The orchestra is still in its infancy, but by the end of the year we hope to give public performances and wow audiences around Cape Town.
