Cement; zinc sheets; timber perlines; 4" nails & screws; paving slabs; roof sheeting; guttering; steel window frames; fly screens; steel doors & door frames; paint; linoleum floor tiles; and most important scaffolding.
The following are needed for the creche & soup kitchen:
Low energy fridge & freezer; kitchen cupboards; shelving; kitchen sink & plumbing materials; gas stove & oven; kitchen utensils such as knives, graters, chopping boards, big spoons, colanders, big plastic bowls etc; small bowls; spoons, knives & forks; trays; plastic mugs; large kettle; various size saucepans; hot boxes & kitchen sink.
Educational & other equipment we need for the creche:
Child-sized wooden tables & chairs; bookshelves; educational toys; coloured posters; matresses & blankets; CD player; gas heater; writing materials; crayons & pencils; paints; excercise books; teacher's desk & 3 chairs; facecloths; large basins; carpets; pretty curtains.
For our guest house:
8 seater table & chairs; easy chairs & couches; carpets; kitchen equipment; shelving; 2 small desks & chairs; kitchen sink & tap; low energy fridge; gas stove; all kitchen equipment; shower rose, rail & taps; linen for single beds; cutlery & crockery; light fittings; linoleum floor tiles & bookshelves.
For our clinic:
Seating for waiting room: reception desk & chair; computer & printer; gas heaters; 2 patient couches & linen; 2 desks for consulting rooms; 4 chairs; medical equipment such as BP kit, stethoscopes, otoscopes etc; small plastic packets for medication; shelving for pharmacy; small fridge; posters; stationery for patient records; notebooks; air purifier.
The Youth Centre needs:
Carpets; desks; library shelving; 4 computers & desks; stackable chairs & benches; games; handcraft & art equipment such as beads, paints, paper etc; sporting equipment; T-shirts & caps; school stationery & books, books, books for the library; TV & DVD player.
For new food gardens we need:
Any fruit & olive trees; seeds & seedlings; granadilla creepers; manure, manure & more manure; gardening tools; seedling trays; watering cans; hosepipes; containers of any kind; shade cloth; any plants that will grow well in the Cape Flats.
Our handcraft workshop for skills training will need:
Industrial sewing machines & overlockers; any and all kinds of fabric, threads & notions; 6 large tables & 50 chairs; all small equipment for sewing & beading; large whiteboard; shelving & cupboards.
The Office needs:
Photocopier; fax machine; filing cabinet; desk; 2 chairs; telephone & stationery.
