Accommodation

Our warm, African hospitality is enjoyed by all the visitors who come to stay. The Indlovu Backpackers’ Lodge hosts backpackers, students, volunteers and travellers wanting a different experience of Cape Town. The views are wonderful – from Table Mountain right around False Bay. Sea and mountains all in one!

The rooms are all sharing, with double bunks and lock-up cupboards. We use natural energy for lighting and hot water.
We believe in comfortable beds, hot showers, funky African décor and the friendliest neighbours in the world!
Chill in the lounge by the bar, chat to the neighbours or laze on the balcony in the sun enjoying a glass of homemade ginger beer with your braai (bar-b-que).

We provide 3 meals a day, but guests must provide their own drinks. Breakfast is a generous buffet, lunch is a communal affair and supper generally a combination of cuisine, with the emphasis on traditional African dishes.

Our lodge creates jobs for 4 people as well as the income needed to buy medicines for our free community clinic.

For a more private stay try Makazi’s Guest House – a small gem built from sandbags by 6 members of the community. This self-catering cottage has a special charm of its own and can accommodate up to 6 people. (see Guest Review in The Times)
